Elon Musk recently took to social media to express his confusion over the backlash he faces, writing, “My companies make great products that people love and I’ve never physically hurt anyone. So why the hate and violence against me? Because I am a deadly threat to the woke mind parasite and the humans it controls.”
His post was in response to a tweet from “Insurrection Barbie,” who claimed, “The left cannot name one thing they hate Elon Musk for.”

Not everyone agreed with Musk’s sentiment. Political activist Melanie D’Arrigo responded with a list of criticisms, including Tesla’s (NASDAQ:TSLA) high fatal crash rate, the company’s anti-union stance, Musk’s push for deregulations that she claims could endanger lives, and alleged job losses linked to his involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency.
Musk may not personally hurt people, but working at his companies can be dangerous. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration last year cited the company for three “serious” violations of workplace safety regulations at the Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, where Cybertrucks are being produced.
Tesla’s Fremont factory in California also has a history with worker injuries. Employees there had a higher injury rate than the national average, according to Worksafe, which analyzed reports filed with OSHA. Tesla has been accused of underreporting injuries, and SpaceX, another of Musk’s companies, has been criticized for similar workplace safety issues.

During a recent interview with Fox News, Musk addressed what he sees as politically motivated hostility toward him. He accused the Biden administration of rejecting SpaceX’s offer to return astronauts from space earlier than planned “for political reasons,” adding that “President Trump prioritized and expedited the return.”
