Musk’s Tesla, SpaceX lobby US government on Trump tariffs

Investing.com — Elon Musk’s Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) and SpaceX filed letters encouraging the U.S. Trade Representative to consider the impact of the Trump administration tariffs.

In a letter addressed to the US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, SpaceX said it “faces a range of regulatory complexities and trade barriers in every country that the U.S. Government should seek to address in order to support continued U.S. leadership in the space domain.”

Tesla, meanwhile, urged Greer to consider to consider “the downstream impacts of certain proposed actions taken to address unfair trade practices.”

The EV company said that while it “supports importance of fair trade, the assessment undertaken by USTR of potential actions to rectify unfair trade should also take into account exports from the United States.”
