‘MiTag’ tracker works with Android’s Find My Device network

There aren’t many trackers for Android’s Find My Device network, and most of the ones that are on the market aren’t exactly cheap. A new option, the “MiTag,” has recently surfaced, though, which costs under $20.

When it (finally) launched last year, the Find My Device network had merely a handful AirTag rivals to offer. Three trackers from Pebblebee, two from Chipolo. That was all there was for quite some time until, eventually, the Moto Tag was also added to the family. Further additions are coming, but options are still fairly slim today.

One option that’s just come onto our radar, though, is from a brand called “MiLi.” This tracker first launched for Apple’s Find My network in 2023, with a new option launching for Google’s network around December 2024. The tracker costs well under $20 – $17.99 being the retail price – making it a cost-effective alternative to options from other established brands.

The “MiTag” claims to by IP67 water resistant and has a replaceable battery with 8-12 months of battery life. The form factor of the tracker is similar to Apple’s AirTag, though it’s just a bit bigger, preventing compatibility with third-party accessories. It does have a built-in cutout for a key ring.

Reviews on the tracker have hit 4-stars on Amazon over the course of over 400 reviews, though in reading the reviews, performance does seem mixed. Some users have had good experiences, but others mention pairing issues and slow location updates, with the latter being inherent of the Find My Device network as a whole. While things have been getting better, Google’s network still struggles compared to others, like Apple’s.

MiLi also has a “MiTag Duo” that works with both Apple and Google’s networks and costs $25.

You can buy the standard, Android-only MiTag on Amazon today. If you have one, let us know how it works for you in the comments below.
