Creamfields dance festival in Hong Kong, slated for March, abruptly cancelled

One of the world’s largest electronic dance music festivals Creamfields slated to take place in Hong Kong next month has been cancelled.

Creamfields announced the decision on social media for its Hong Kong audience on Monday, without specifying a reason.

But in a separate post on a mainland Chinese social media platform, organiser Live Nation said the cancellation was due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The festival, scheduled for March 8 and 9 at Central Harbourfront, was earlier promoted as a mega-event by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. The advertisement for Creamfields on the board’s website has been removed.

“It is with regret that Creamfields Hong Kong 2025 scheduled to take place on 8th and 9th March 2025 has been cancelled. All customers will be issued with a full refund on tickets purchased. You don’t need to do anything,” Live Nation said.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment caused.”
