Apple TV+ today announced a new documentary film called Bono: Stories of Surrender, which streams worldwide on May 30, and will also be available in an immersive 3D format viewable in the Apple Vision Pro headset.
In fact, this will be the first feature-length Apple Immersive film; all previous made-for-Vision-Pro content has been short-form fare. Apple and U2 have always had a close relationship, and this project is the latest example of that.
The new documentary includes footage from Bono’s 2022 stage show, which itself was inspired from his bestselling memoir Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story.
The film will explore Bono’s personal story intermingled with performances of some of the iconic U2 songs that have shaped his life.
The film is perhaps the most profile entry in Apple’s collection of original music documentaries, joining the likes of the Velvet Underground, Selena Gomez and Billie Eilish. Apple Original Films has also announced an upcoming title on Fleetwood Mac, but that release is currently undated.
All Apple TV+ subscribers can watch the 2D version of the movie, streaming May 30. If you want to watch in immersive 3D, though, you’ll need an Apple Vision Pro.
