A judge in the southern US state of Georgia overturned a stringent state-wide abortion law introduced after the Supreme Court ended the constitutional right to abortion in 2022. The Georgia judge ruled that the ban on abortion after six weeks of pregnancy – when many women don’t yet realize they’re pregnant – was inconsistent with the rights of women to control their own bodies.
