I Wish More Android Phones Would Adopt This One Feature

Wireless charging has always been slow and unreliable—until Qi2. With faster speeds and support for magnetic accessories, it finally feels practical. Yet, most Android phones still don’t fully support it, and it’s time for that to change.

Qi2 Charging Is Faster And More Efficient

I’m genuinely surprised that Qi2 charging hasn’t seen widespread adoption, even on modern flagship phones, despite being such a useful feature.

If you’re unfamiliar with Qi2, it’s essentially a slightly tweaked version of Apple’s MagSafe feature, allowing for wireless charging at up to 15W. In contrast, standard Qi chargers max out at just 7.5W, which was never practical—especially with today’s smartphones packing batteries over 5000mAh.

But Qi2 isn’t just about faster charging. Since it’s based on MagSafe, it also supports a range of magnetic accessories and ensures perfect alignment between the charging puck and your phone’s coil, making charging more efficient.

However, there’s a catch. Some phones, like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and OnePlus 13, are labeled as “Qi2 Ready”, but that only means they support faster wireless charging—not magnetic accessories. To use those, you’ll need a compatible case with built-in magnets unless your phone is explicitly “Qi2 Certified”.

Qi2 Accessories Everyone Should Try

That said, there are some incredible Qi2 accessories that I consider more than just nice-to-haves—they’re absolute essentials. My personal favorite is Qi2 power banks simply because of how convenient they are.

I don’t even need to carry a cable anymore—I just snap the power bank onto the back of my phone, and it starts charging, completely cable-free. If you need a recommendation, I would definitely suggest the Anker MagGo.

I highly recommend a magnetic car mount since it’s much easier to use than dealing with clips on traditional mounts. A Qi2 multi-device charging stand is also a great pick, letting you charge your phone, earphones, and watch all at once.

Qi2 wallets are another popular accessory, letting you store a few cards and even some cash while staying magnetically attached to the back of your phone. However, based on my experience, they can come off easily when slipping your phone into your pocket, so that’s something to keep in mind.

If your phone doesn’t support Qi2, don’t worry—you can still use these accessories by adding magnetic stickers to the back of your device.
