The House Task Force investigating the assassination attempts on President-elect Trump earlier this year is holding its final hearing Thursday morning.
The panel, probing two incidents, will focus on perceived security failures by the U.S. Secret Service that led to Trump being the target of a shooting at a campaign rally in Butler, Pa., in July. During that event, a bullet grazed the ear of the president-elect.
A second perceived attempt was thwarted in September, when agents noticed the tip of a rifle coming through the perimeter of Trump’s Florida golf course. The suspect fled before shots were fired.
Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe is set to give the last testimony on behalf of the agency. Following the hearing, the task force will review its interim report that was released in October.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST.
